- Sherwood School District 88J was again pleased with the results of the Oregon School Report Card.
- During the eight-year history of the Report Card, Sherwood Schools have collectively received five "exceptional", nine "strong" and one "satisfactory" ratings.
- This year Archer Glen Elementary,Hopkins Elementary, Middleton Elementary, Sherwood Middle School and Sherwood High School all received "exceptional" ratings.
- On every state assessment at every level a greater percentage of Sherwood students met or exceeded the state standard than did students statewide.
- 95% of our 3rd graders met or exceeded the state standard in reading last year, 95% met or exceeded the state standard in mathematics.
- 77% of our 8th grade students met or exceeded the state standard in reading compared to 65% of the students statewide.
- 60% of our 10th graders met or exceeded the state mathematics knowledge assessment last year compared to 49% of the students statewide.
- 90% of the teachers in all Sherwood schools were rated "Highly Qualified" as defined by the Federal "No Child Left Behind" Act.
- The average attendance rate of Sherwood students is 94%.
- Our High School "drop-out" rate of 1% remains well below the 5.4% statewide average.
- 96% of our elementary parents attend parent/teacher conferences.
- The district offers extended opportunities to students through the "evening institute" and "summer school."
- Parents and community members regularly volunteer in our schools. Our five schools accrued over 32,000 volunteer hours last year.
- Each of our schools has a school improvement plan in place, which guides our continued efforts to achieving excellence.
